AeroShell Team
The AeroShell Team has been performing for over 20 years, amassing
thousands of hours in front of Airshow fans all over North America.
These pilots fly the North American AT-6 Texan,aka “The Pilot Maker”
with tons of smoke and noise, you don't want to miss this!
JULIE CLARK
 

Julie Clark’s sparkling personality and graceful aerobatics have endeared her to legions of faithful fans. Julie performs her routine in the MENTOR, a restored T-34. Click Here to view a video about Julie.

 JETSCHOOLBUS & JETOUTHOUSE

 

The Indy Boys present the Jet Powered School Bus and Jet Outhouse. In this high impact show, the bus nicknamed “School Time” is outfitted with a jet engine from an F-4 Phantom and is trailed by 80 foot flames. The Jet Outhouse, aka “Port O Jet” also leaves an impression with 30 ft. flames and 1,000 HP. Click Here to view a video of their performance. 

 

Collmer, pilot of the FINA Extra 300L
The CAF is proud to have Jan Collmer, pilot of the FINA Extra 300L, as one of AIRSHO's featured aerobatic performers. Watch Jan as he puts his Extra 300L through a breathtaking display of maneuvers, including awe-inspiring torque rolls and tail slides.
The Extra 300L is an unlimited-level aerobatic aircraft designed by award-winning German aerobatic pilot and chief aircraft designer Walter Extra in 1987. One of the most agile two-seater aerobatic airplanes in the world, the Extra 300L is FAA-certified in the acrobatic category. Top speed is 250 miles per hour, and the aircraft and can be flown to plus or minus 10 Gs. Click Here to view video from Jan's performances.
TORA TORA TORA/WWII Airpower Demonstration
 
Warbird fans will appreciate the World War II airpower demo, recreating many famous battles from World War II with prop-driven aircraft from the round-engine era. See a recreation of the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor with TORA TORA TORA, as well as many other flying examples of WWII trainer, fighter, and bomber aircraft. Feel the ground shake with simulated breathtaking smoke, fire and explosions from the CAF EOD/Blastards.  Click Here to view photos of TORA.
U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight
 
History enthusiasts also will enjoy the U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight, which will feature the P-47 Thunderbolt and the A-10 Thunderbolt II. Watch as they make formation passes along the flight-line and compare the jet and warbird from two different eras.
Jerod Flohr
 
Jerod Flohr was born in Stanton, Texas, raised in Big Spring, Texas, graduated from Coahoma High School, then went on to attain his pilot licenses at the U.S. Flight Academy at his local flight school in Big Spring. Jerod dreamed of becoming a pilot since as early as he could remember. He went to the Midland AIRSHO almost every year from a child through his teenage years and was inspired to be an air show pilot. Jerod achieved his life-long dream of becoming an air show pilot in May of this year when he received his 500 foot air show waiver from the legendary Wayne Handley. Now living in San Jose, Calif., see Jerod perform in his beautiful Extra 300L.
WWII Living History Reenactors
The purpose of Living History Reenactors is to portray, preserve and honor the “Greatest Generation” of Americans. At the CAF AIRSHO 2012 these individuals will recreate the past in living history encampments on the AIRSHO grounds as they “Take a Step Back in Time” and relive the days of World War II. They will also participate during the Tora Tora Tora flying sequence as they take to the taxi way in a mock battle.

Announcer - Larry Strain
 
Larry Strain has been involved with air shows for almost 30 years, having held positions in virtually every aspect of the industry including planning, production, flying, narrating, air boss, management and instructing. Strain earned his pilot’s license at the age of 16 and holds type rating in many different makes and models of jets and warbirds; and has flown in over 100 air shows. Strain is a member of the “Air Pros” team which is nationally known and recognized within the air show industry.
Air Boss - Ralph Royce
Ralph Royce has been involved in air show production and management since 1976. He has operated an aviation event consulting and air boss/announcing business for twenty years, “AirPros”, and is well known throughout the air show industry. Royce is Chairman of the International Council of Air Shows’ Safety Committee. He is the lead instructor for the Industry’s Air & Ground Operations Seminar (both basic and advanced), taught at the ICAS Convention, the FAA Academy, and the USAF Air Show Workshop.
